About Music, Memory, & Material Culture
Music, Memory, & Material Culture is a mother-daughter organization.

Reba-Jean Shaw-Pichette was first on stage at Asbury Park, NJ's Paramount Theatre as the Popcorn Queen in 1961. From Cherie in Bus Stop (Phoenixville, PA) to Rose Schneiderman at the Annie Theatre in Gloucester, MA, Reba-Jean has tread the boards for half a century. A love of Living History began at Allaire Deserted Village & Valley Forge Park and led to 30+ years as a Museum Educator with Old Deerfield's Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association (PVMA). Through national grants with Teaching American History, she presented immersive programs and lectures at museums, schools, and historical societies, including Yale (CT) and MIT (NH). Costume design, especially for living history, has been a love throughout with creations for Tar2f (Tartuffe the Musical) and “The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged)” being favourites.

Piper Pichette (she/they) studied Costume Design and Puppetry at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School. With a BFA in Professional Music from Berklee College & the Boston Conservatory (Boston, MA), "Piper the Pied Harpist" is a member of the Pioneer Valley Harper's Guild and ASCAP. Historical theater & costuming has been a passion since 1998 with Old Deerfield museums. Tons of fun with the Deerfield Valley Players, the Renaissance Center at UMass Amherst, Shakespeare & Co., Mutton & Mead Medieval Faire, PVMA's 1704 Reenactments, the Outrageous Misfortunates, and in the founding years of Silverthorne Theatre with Lucinda Kidder & David Rowland. Most precious part was in traveling performances with the late Jackie Cooper's company for "Follow the Thread" as Sarah in "The Immigrants Speak".
